2015 – A Year in Review

2015 was an exciting year for the Foundation. We fulfilled our goal of becoming more involved in New Jersey’s grantmaking and nonprofit communities, making connections with nonprofit leaders and organizations from throughout the state and deepening our commitment to continuing education about trends and issues facing today’s nonprofit sector. To top it all off, 2015 saw the successful completion of one grant cycle and the record-breaking start of another. Keep reading for the many highlights of our 2015 year!

GRANT CYCLE Highlights

  • During Fiscal Year 2014-2015, we awarded over $45,000 to 6 non-profits throughout Warren, Hunterdon, and Somerset counties for both ongoing programs and special projects
  • Our grants provided financial support, supplies, and educational materials to over 30 staff members and regular volunteers during nearly 700 hours of planning, project implementation, and educational programming
  • As of November 2015, at least 190 unique community members – adults and children – had engaged with our grant-funded projects and programs
  • 100% of our grantees reported the achievement of at least 1 primary program objective

FOUNDATION Highlights

  • The beginning of our 2015-2016 Grant Cycle has seen an 82% increase in grant inquiries and a 225% increase in first-time applicants
  • This year, we’ve better defined our regional area of focus within Central New Jersey. You can see the current map of our funding area here
  • 2015 saw the completion of our Local History video series, which showcases primary and secondary oral histories collected from 3 veterans and historians. All 5 videos3 features and 2 short clips – are available on our Showcase
